After successfully working his way up in the fine dining industry to owning his own restaurant, Oliver decided to fulfill his dream of becoming a captain and purchased the sailing vessel Freyja in 2019. She needed a lot of work and Oliver spent the next two years meticulously rebuilding the classic Kady Krogen 38 cutter to her original glory. With a full captains license and years of experience operating many types of boats and providing top notch service to guests, Captain Oliver can't wait to have you onboard the beautiful Freyja for the most enjoyable sailing adventure you've ever had!
With more than a decade's worth of experience tending bar in some of the most noteworthy establishments around the South, Kirsten 'retired' to Southport, NC, to experience the slower side of life but never lost her love of sharing real Southern Hospitality with everyone around her. A seasoned stewardess aboard megayachts and other sailing vessels in Florida and the Bahamas, Kirsten's goal is to provide the little extras that will make your trip with us exceed your expectations. When she's not hauling ropes or manning the helm, she is a teacher of special education at Wilmington School of the Arts.
Don't let her size fool you - much like Captain Ahab, there is more to this seasoned sailor than meets the eye. At just seven years old, Ellie May decided to get her sea legs, learn the ropes, and set sail with Captain Oliver. She may take on a serious countenance as she supervises the operations of Freyja on her watch, but in her free time she loves learning sea shanties and new tricks, getting belly rubs, and feeling the wind in her whiskers.
